26 July 2016 Visitors to Portland

Over the past couple of weeks we have had some wonderful visitors - and you have no idea how much both Brian and I appreciate this.
Firstly, we loved a catch-up with Dianne and Ian Kluge. My friendship with Dianne goes back around (small clearing of throat) 45 years ago when I first began teaching in Maitland SA. We then traveled to Europe together and have kept in touch ever since.
We even sold some blood in Greece to supplement our meagre travelling funds...
... and no, of course we haven't aged a bit (despite the 'clown hat')
Then on the weekend we enjoyed a visit from the person who has known me longer than anyone else on this earth - my sister Marlene, and husband David. They were kept busy with us trying to catch glimpses of the Southern Right whale with young calf frolicking around in the nearby beaches, or helping out with some handyman projects.

Healthwise, all has been stable for me. The dental specialist that I saw a couple of weeks ago was happy to leave my teeth alone - and I was certainly happy with that too.
Yesterday I had a 3-month CT scan done to check how I am responding to the cancer drug. Other than minor discomforts I am feeling very well, but will get test results back later in the week.

Last night Brian looked out the window - only to see a flat tyre on the car. That's the second tyre in less than 12 months that we've had to replace thanks to a drill-bit through it.
Brian's getting 'tyred' of replacing these.
