18 January 2015

It was quite difficult the other day, making the decision to resign from several church/school team positions I had committed myself to for 2015. While my heart badly wants to continue actively in these roles, I know that the regime of treatments and uncertainties make this impossible for now.
I was bemoaning the fact that I “couldn’t do” numerous activities that I have such a heart for, when Brian reminded me in a very timely manner, “instead of thinking of the things that you currently can’t do, why not focus on things that you can do”. Thanks Brian, it was what I needed to hear! It also reminded me of the following quote in a card sent to me recently:

                                What Cancer Cannot Do

                            Cancer is so limited……
                            It cannot cripple Love
                            It cannot shatter Hope
                            It cannot corrode Faith
                            It cannot destroy Peace
                            It cannot kill Friendship
                            It cannot suppress memories
                            It cannot silence Courage
                            It cannot invade the Soul
                            It cannot steal Eternal Life
                            It cannot conquer the Spirit
