Well another week has passed here at the Geelong hospital
– I’ve been here almost 3 weeks now.
There are several things worth noting at this point:
·
I have finished 9 out of the scheduled 10
radiotherapy treatments. Unfortunately because of the long weekend, I will only
be able to have the final session on Tuesday (so a long weekend of ‘hanging
around’ in this place!)
·
In my first week of treatment, I experienced
some nausea. The usual scenario with radiotherapy is that any side-effects are
cumulative and generally worsen as the treatment continues. However during this
second week, the nausea has not increased at all, and has in fact disappeared!
Very unusual. I put it down to the strong covering of prayer that I know is
over me at this time – thanks God!
·
After this final treatment, I will be
transferred back to Portland, probably on Wednesday. At this stage I anticipate
it will be to the Portland hospital, but that remains to be seen depending on
the next stage of treatment (chemo) which will be supervised from Warrnambool.
It will be lovely to be closer to home.
Meanwhile, enjoy the long
weekend that embraces Australia Day. It always seems to be the final ‘relax’
before the onslaught of annual activities (particularly in school life).
